NEW ROUNDS ADDED FOR 2018 AND MORE TO BE ADDED SOON End of Year quiz for use within Science lessons towards the end of term. There are 17 Quiz rounds to choose from (I usually have the folder open on the board and let one team at a time choose which round we do). There are several science based rounds (including CB1-6 specific questions from the Edexcel combined science GCSE that I’m sure fits with other schemes), as well as some generic rounds.

CP3f lesson from the new Edexcel combined science GCSE (9-1) looking at renewable energy. The lesson includes what a renewable energy resource is, solar power, hydroelectric, wind turbines, tidal power, bio fuels, usage of renewable resources and if 100% renewable is possible.

CP3e lesson from the new Edexcel Combined Science GCSE (9-1) looking at non renewable energy. The lesson includes the UK's energy usage, how energy usage has changed, what a non renewable resource is, what fossil fuels are, the disadvantages of fossil fuels, building a turbine practical, nuclear power disadvantages and nuclear power advantages.

A series of lessons looking at climate change and global warming. Lesson 1: Causes- what global warming is, what greenhouse gases are, are humans the cause, deforestation and fossil fuels. Lesson 2: Effects- data about climate change, sea level rise, ocean acidification, warming oceans, shrinking ice sheets, extreme weather events, effects on health and a graph drawing exercise. Lesson 3: Solutions- what can governments do, the Paris agreement, what businesses can do and renewable energy. Lesson 4: Solutions- what individuals can do to combat climate change. There are lots of exercises and information included in each lesson and it could easily be condensed down into fewer lessons by excluding some tasks. Likewise some of the tasks could be stretched out across several lesson depending upon the time you have. All worksheets/resources needed are within the PowerPoint as hidden slides.

CP3d lesson from the new science GCSE (9-1) all about stored energies. The lesson includes what gravitational potential energy is, how to calculate a change in gravitational potential energy, what kinetic energy is and how to calculate kinetic energy stored.

CP3c lesson from the new Edexcel science GCSE (9-1) all about keeping warm. The lesson includes a recap of particle models, what heat transfer is, conduction, convection, radiation and how to decrease the rate of energy transfer through heating.

CP3b lesson from the new Edexcel science GCSE (9-1) looking at energy efficiency. The lesson includes how devices lose energy, what efficiency is, comparing efficiency of devices, Sankey diagrams, how to calculate efficiency and how to increase efficiency.

CP3a lesson from the new Edexcel science GCSE (9-1) looking at energy stores and transfers. The lesson includes what the different energy stores are, energy transfers, the law of conservation of energy, useful/wasted output, energy diagrams and Sankey diagrams.

Revision lesson for CP4 and 5 in the new Edexcel Science GCSE (9-1). The lesson uses Marvel characters for the basis of 15 questions, intended to be printed and placed around the room to get them moving around as they revise through answering the questions.
