Easter is on its way! Can’t wait for a chocolate hunt, right? In the meantime I suggest you this resource to develop your students’ knowledge about Easter and other celebrations in. This lesson will also give you the opportunity to practice vocabulary about Easter and grammar about the simple present tense in French It gives an explanation as to why we celebrate Easter and other celebrations around it (Carnival, Fat Tuesday… ). The presentation is made of 37 colourful slides and the activity booklet contains 14 pages to make your lesson more interactive and enjoyable. It contains: - a self-target setting slide - a video about Easter - reading activity about the different celebrations(how we celebrate them and why with some pictures to help for the understanding.) - a True/False activity, - an introduction to the vocabulary - games for drilling - a noughts and crosses to be played in pairs - an introduction to the present tense (ER, IR, RE) and a practice - a word search - unscrambling activity - colouring activities for the younger ones - a pair work speaking activity with opinions - a puzzle with letters to unscramble It is quite flexible and will allow you to teach from pre-intermediate to intermediate levels with kids, teens or adults. Hi everyone, Teaching tenses and especially the present perfect in French can be difficult but here’s a resource that should help you teach the present perfect tense in a fun and dynamic way. This lesson is aimed at children and teenagers but it can be adapted for the needs of adults. It contains a powerpoint with 17 slides and an activity booklet with 5 pages so that students can keep a track of their learning. It contains 11 activities in total. 1. As an introduction to the lesson students are invited to set themselves a target so that they own their learning (3 targets are offered as part of differentiation) 2. The lesson starts with a reading activity where students need to identify the verbs and make suggestions about the use and formation of the verbs. It is followed by a correction. 3. The teacher introduces the utilization of the present perfect tense 4. The teacher introduces the formation of the tense according to the three groups but also the formation with the use of être/avoir and the agreements 5. Focus on the negative form with all three groups 6. Students match up the beginning and end of sentences to check the understanding of the structure 7. Introduction to most irregular verbs 8. 3 progressive exercises 9. a writing activity 10. jeopardy in teams. Students need to say complete sentences according to the sentences they see on the board. 11. Review of objectives. Have fun and don’t forget the booklet so that students can keep a written track of their learning!
