She leads them on a whistle stop journey through time, meeting some great pioneers of flight along the way, in order to find the ideal travel option. With wax and feather wings, hot air balloons and experimental aeroplanes on the menu, the Holiday family are relieved by the more modern choice that is eventually offered to them. A class assembly for ages 7 and over, with an entertaining and informative angle on how flight has been adapted throughout history.

This is a PSHE lesson for New Year, which can be used in upper KS1 or KS2. The focus of the lesson is to reflect on past achievements, before attempting to set some realistic New Year targets.
