The environment - ESL conversation questions - No prep speaking activity
List of 25 vocabulary words related to the environment and pollution with 20 thought provoking discussion questions. The questions are suitable for middle school, high school and adult learning. This resource is especially useful for your chapter on the environment or for Earth Day. Next to each word there is space for students to either write the definition in English or to write the translation in their native language.
I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page.

The questions are suitable for upper level and AP French or for middle and high school French immersion. This resource is especially useful for your chapter on food and restaurants.
I like to print the list of words on one side of a page and the questions on the other side so that students can easily refer to the new vocabulary during their conversations. If you make a two sided copy everything will fit on one page. A page with French vocabulary and no English translation for immersion programs is included.
Also included is a set of speaking cards for students to use prior to using the discussion cards so that they can become familiar with the theme and many new words. The cards just need to be printed and cut out so that your students can use them in pairs or small groups. Each card says, “Décris le mot suivant en français et ton partenaire le devinera.” The vocabulary word is written both in French and English since many of the words will be new. This exposure to the vocabulary will make the discussion that follows flow easier. Students will still have easy access to the list of words on the other side of the photocopied questions.
Don’t want to print? That’s ok! A PDF with just one card per page is included for easy projecting or for tablets.
Included:
➯ 35 vocabulary words to get ideas for discussion and studying
➯ 20 thought provoking discussion questions

Use these insightful and thought provoking question cards to trigger great discussions among your students about the wonderful book by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, le Petit Prince. Use the cards to teach them the vocabulary if you want. This activity is a fun way to encourage your students to speak more and engage in conversation. It is a perfect resource to use in immersion, core or homeschool curriculums. You will have to read and study the book prior to using these questions.
You can use these cards after teaching specific vocabulary and grammar for le Petit Prince or as a fun interactive activity on a day when you want to just focus on speaking and reviewing vocabulary in a different way. Read on to find out the many ways I like to use these cards including the popular SCOOT game. Instructions and recording sheet are included.
All cards are visually stimulating and feature a circle to punch out in the upper left corner so that you can print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and hook the cards together with a ring. Using these cards this way makes it easy to pull them out year after year to use as NO PREP speaking activities.

➱ 30 speaking prompt cards - color (4 per page to print and cut out)
➱ 30 speaking prompt cards - grayscale
➱ PDF version to project and avoid printing (1 card per page to project)
➱ 9 different ways to use these cards
➱ Scoot game instructions
➱ Scoot recording sheet
There are many ways you can use these cards:
✫ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions.
✫ Project the pdf file in class to work in group or with your whole class and avoid printing.
✫ Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.
✫ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out correct answers to false statements.
✫ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.
✫ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.
✫ Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer true or false and to correct the false statements. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question. All cards are numbered so it is simple to stay organized. Full instructions are included.
✫ Use the cards with board games. Students must answer a question in order to move.
✫ Use the cards as an icebreaker activity at the beginning of the school year or right after school holidays.
✫ Great resource for tutoring sessions and vocabulary building.
Le jeu des sept familles - A classic card game is fun for students of all ages! Les règles du jeu en français
Set 1: 42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or cardstock
Set 2: 42 playing cards to print on heavy paper or cardstock
This card game is an excellent way to practice and memorize verb conjugations, and it will have your students speaking to each other in French the whole time! In the deck of 42 cards there are 7 families of 6 cards (je - tu - il - nous - vous - ils).
One player distributes five cards to each player (2 to 4 per group). The rest of the cards are placed in the “pioche”. One player begins the game by asking another player to give him a card. He might say, “Dans la famille VENDRE, est-ce que tu as TU VENDS?”
His goal is to come up with a complete family. If the player doesn’t have it, he says “pioche”. If he draws the card that he asked for, he can continue to play and ask someone for another card. Each time a player comes up with all six members of a family, he can make a stack. At the end of the game, the player with the most sets of families wins!

These cut and paste worksheets will help your beginner French students learn the days of the week and the months. Great for core French and immersion schools!
How to use these worksheets:
One worksheet is included for the days of the week and the 12 months are on two sheets. Have your students cut off the bottom part of the worksheet where indicated with scissors. Then have them cut out the days and months. Now they’re ready to paste the days and months in the right spot on the paper. They should put the days and months in chronological order. Next to each numbered space there are lines where students write out the days and months to help with spelling. When they’ve finished they’ll enjoy coloring the numbers and the little black and white image at the top of the page.

The answers don’t have to be given in the form of a question unless you want to play that way. My students absolutely love this game, and so do I. They get very excited about it and always look forward to JEOPARDY DAY.
