*As an English teacher I find that reading Lord of the Flies can be challenging for my lower ability groups so I wanted to create a workbook to help students understand what they have read. *
*These questions I have created to go in this workbook is to make students think about the main ideas and details, making sure they really get the point of the text, themes, characters, language used and structure.
*I have found that the questions will also help students to remember what they have read by getting them to focus on key parts and think about them more deeply.
In addition, this practice builds their vocabulary and helps them learn how to explain our thoughts clearly.
I have also added in an extension activity for those who work faster or it could be used as homework.

I have used this individual results sheet for all my GCSE students for several years.
**4 separate sheets for English Language P1 -P2 and English Literature P1-P2
It allows me to sit down with each student that I teach and discuss their exam result and look at where they want to improve and I think the need to improve.
Although I put the exam result in and my prediction, I always let the student complete the sheet with 5 Key Questions:
’What do I need to do to improve?
'**What will stop me from achieving my goal? **
etc…
It means that the student is taking responsibility for their own learning. I also use this sheet when doing a final parents evening as it allows parents to read what their child has written.
