Assessment document with "I Can" Statements This passport can be given to each child in the class and used to keep track of their mastery of each English concept from the National Curriculum. I place a sticker in their passport when they have achieved the statement, but you could also tick for each time it has been shown, and then put a sticker over after a certain number of ticks, to show development of the skill. This is a great way for students to keep track of their learning through the year. I have used the statements from the curriculum as a basis to write my I can statements. This includes instructions to easily print as a booklet from Adobe Acrobat or Reader.

This task is designed to practice budgeting skills, and could be used in KS2 or lower KS3. There are two options for the tasks, page 6 is a general version, and page 7 is an alternative that could be used at the end of Year 6 when discussing starting high school. Students will need to be provided with either store catalogues which feature the items required, or access to the internet to get prices from store websites. I have given students free reign here in how to record their work, but you may wish to give them a template to follow, or some examples. No grading rubric has been attached due to the open nature of the task and the range of students it could apply to, but there is a brief mention to students of how they will be graded on page 9, which should help you start a grading rubric specific to your class.
