This includes a definition, space to practise drawing a circuit diagram to test items to confirm if they are conductors or insulators. A practical can be carried out and pupils complete 2 tables with items and materials, as either conductors or insulators. Heating Effect of a Current. This includes a definition and the opportunity to make a fuse from nichrome wire to show the heating effect of a current as the wire glows read and melts. This can be a class practical or demo. This introduces the ammeter and pupils measure the current the wire melts at. Current and Charge. The definition is introduced for current. Pupils are helped to draw circuit diagrams for series and parallel circuits. Pupils are introduced to the rule of current in series and parallel. Current in a Series and Parallel Circuit.
