This is a revision workbook designed to support the 2017 spec. AQA A-Level English Language and Literature Paris Anthology exam question.
It is a twenty-five page booklet, designed to help students engage with and write towards the Assessment Objectives. There are also activities to revise knowledge of the anthology and wider context of Paris. It also contains a practise question generator and information to support students using the mark scheme to evaluate their responses.
This SOL should last approximately seven weeks, and is designed to introduce students to the GCSE text 'An Inspector Calls' by J.B Priestley. Each lesson comes with a PowerPoint slideshow and any required resources. It is designed to be supported by the 2015 BBC adaptation of the play.
It is comprised of seven mini units (see image) that are somewhat interchangeable and can also be used as standalone mini-units for revision. It was originally designed to scaffold GCSE skills for a high ability Year 9 group, however has worked successfully with KS4 groups as an introduction to the text.
This set of three stand-alone learning sequences focus on enabling pupils to identifying key features of common text types (letter/newspaper article/instructional writing) and then producing their texts according to these features.
Each text type begins by first exploring the common structure/language used and then guide learners through the process of producing their own texts. It is useful for encouraging pupils to produce their own pieces of extended writing according to a particular brief.
