I work as a private maths tutor so I need a constant stream of supplies to keep my students engaged. Any comments you have on how to improve or extend any of my worksheets would be hugely appreciated. I hope you find what's here helpful - I've only uploaded the resources that have proved successful with my students, anything that didn't go down so well has either been editted or binned!

Perimeter / Area - New house

This worksheet gives a diagram of a new house which students have to use to find the area and perimeter of each room. It's possible to work out the value of each side but they haven't all been filled in so students have to use logic and reasoning to find each of them. They're also given a price list (eg living room carpet is £5 per square metre) so they have to work out how much it work cost to carpet and wallpaper each room

I’ve found plenty of sheets on various fraction topics, but never all together, which is why I created this - I find it so useful! It enables the pupils to keep all their work together and saves on printing loads of sheets out! I print this in booklet mode on the PDF reader - I purposefully made the fonts large enough that it works in A5 This booklet covers: -Colouring half of a shape -Colouring quarter of a shape (- A brief note on how two quarters = one half ) -Practice writing 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 - Counting in halves and quarters - Writing what fraction of a diagram is coloured in - Colouring a fraction of a diagram - Equivalent fractions on diagrams (match the pair that has the same fraction coloured) - Colouring half/quarter on different diagrams (eg ones that are split into 8 parts) - Using diagrams to illustrate fractions that add to a whole - Finding pairs of fractions that add to a whole (same denominator) - Adding/Subtracting fractions with the same denominator

2D Shape Mats Activity

A set of sheets using shape cards which need to be placed in the appropriate boxes. A hands on activity to sort shapes rather than the usual worksheet. Print and laminate the three cards (corners, sides and names). Print and cut out the shapes - I used coloured card but they can be laminated instead, or on white for the children to colour in. The recording sheet is used to combine all the information from the cards, the pupils are asked to draw the shape, name it and then record the number of sides and corners. Shapes included: triangle, square, rectangle, circle, oval, hexagon, pentagon, octagon, trapezium and diamond
