A set of worksheets to stimulate writing about the weather and seasons at KS1.
Sheet 1 shows muddled weather words for children to unscramble.
Sheet 2 is a template for children to write their own weather words into.
Sheet 3 is divided into the 4 seasons and asks children to write weather words for each season.
Sheet 4, 5, 6 and 7 asks children to write words in the boxes for each of the seasons.

Children can find out what their animal is dependent on their birthdays.

Children draw or past the animals clockwise in the order that they appear in the Chinese Zodiac.
Recognise the animals? Write the names of the 12 shadow animals under the pictures.
Write the names and / or year of the animals under the colour pictures.
Draw or paste the animals onto the sheet which shows the animal names.

Show the colour page with 28 pictures on. You could discuss a few examples before the children carry out the activity.
The aim of the game is to identify the pictures and then sort them into the seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
Some pictures may fall into more than one category such as sun cream - Spring and Summer.
Children work in pairs or teams to identify the pictures and sort.
They can use the grid template provided to write their answers on either write the season or/and what the pictures show.
Alternatively, cut out the pictures and children can sort them under 4 headings.
Sheet 3 is the answer sheet, although children may come up with plausible alternative answers of their own.

Each sheet shows 4 items - 1 of these is the odd one out
e.g. shorts, gloves, sunglasses and trainers - the theme is summer clothing and gloves are the odd ones out.
Children can write the cursive words and colour the pictures.
Children can compare the pictures on each page and say how they have decided on the criteria.
A worksheet for each season with a literacy link.
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter worksheets follow the same format.
The alphabet runs across the top to assist with phonics, spelling and alphabetical order.
The key words that correspond to the pictures are written out for each season.
There are pictures to name, colour and write the initial sound next to for each season.
There is space for children to write a sentence about each season using the key words to help them.
Children can then write out the key words in alphabetical order in their workbook or on paper/ white board.
