A complete lesson for young children linked to Literacy and Sports. Start with the short story to share with the children which aims to show how teamwork and perseverance can overcome difficulties. Children can colour in the picture and answer the 6 comprehension questions about the story on sheet 2. Sheet 3 asks the children to find and underline pairs of rhyming words and then write them.They can then trace the frog and his tennis ball. Sheet 4 is a doodle sheet with tennis related pictures to colour. The lesson links in nicely with Sports Day and Wimbledon.
