Lots of ways of using this resource which links to art and design, colour, shape, pattern, matching and sorting activites as well as Valentine’s Day. There are heart shapes of 3 different sizes, each showing a different pattern / colours. Children can cut and match the hearts, recreate the patterns, use fabric collage to make similar patterns or draw / paint their own hearts. Children can trace around the dotted heart shapes. Hearts can be cut and pasted onto the outline templates. You could make a heart lotto game. There are 3 black and white template heart sheets for you or the children to use- 1 showing small hearts, 1 with 6 hearts to a page and 1 with 2 hearts to a page. A lovely resource for Valentine’s day to inspire children to make heart cards with different designs.

These memory games are based on Kim’s game which generally uses objects. Each game has 5 colour pictures all with a topic theme: Farm Characters/people Transport Bugs Buildings Seaside Garden Stationary Circus Feelings Page 1 gives the teacher instructions on how to play the game. Then there is a worksheet to go with each topic. These are for the children to write their lists on and to cut and order the pictures from memory. There is a blank template that you can use for any other topic you are teaching. Extend the amount of pictures for more able /older children. This game links to maths /number/counting to 5 and literacy, speaking and listening and list writing as well as sequencing.
