Maths of SCUBA Diving - Dalton's Law
This is the first in a series of posters trying to promote mathematics through a different avenue - SCUBA diving.
I’ll try and compile an area of SCUBA diving alongside with a relevant area of mathematics in the National Curriculum, how far I can get will depend, but there is a high amount of mathematics in SCUBA diving.
This week I’ve started with a nice gas law called Dalton’s Law - it requires a bit of understanding of how pressure in BAR increases with depth underwater. (I’ll release something on this at a later point). But this could be a nice research topic for yourself and your class - maybe even come up with a formula relating depth to BAR.
I hope this is of use to some people - please rate/review if it is.
Sorry for the shameless plug of my little Mat Duxbury Diving logo. Trying to promote the sport to others too!
Perimeter of Semi-circles : applied questions - Scaffolded Worksheet (w. Answers)

It’s scaffolded at each step, along with a little stretch question at the end to promote a bit of problem solving.
Hope this is of use to some, if so, please rate / review.
** Now with answers **
Perimeter of Semi-circles - Scaffolded Worksheet (w. Answers)
A scaffolded worksheet to help pupils build knowledge in how to answer finding the perimeter of semi-circles.
Suitable for lower ability pupils, small stretch and challenge at the end without the aid of any diagrams.
Hope you find it useful , if so please rate / review.
** Now includes answers, first is a full answer **
Area of Annulus - Scaffolded Worksheet (w. Answers)
A worksheet scaffolded to aid students in understanding how to find the area of an annulus.
Extra challenge at the bottom, which involves a bit of problem solving and an inverse step.
Hope you find this useful, it’s in a Word document so you can change the names to pupils in your classes!

Every month contains two famous mathematicians from that month in history, they vary in their respective areas in mathematics, and I have tried to include as many influential male and female mathematicians as possible.
Note: each month is also available for free the month before, but if you’d like to save some time then you can buy this pack.
