'Your one stop shop for ENGAGING, AUTHENTIC ideas to keep your students busy, and schools wanting you to come back. Resources that are easy to use with links to some amazing websites and a host of free resources.'
Teaching is one of the most creative jobs I know, even after 30 years of teaching I realise that every day is different. You may be teaching the same subjects and grades, but it's children that make teaching both the challenging and rewarding profession that I have known.

Set of colored and black and white game boards for your classroom kit. Each board game incorporates a spinner which can be used with a paper clip and a thumb tack with numbers 1-6 (If you don’t have dice handy)
This has been incredibly popular with my younger students, who have created some fun games using these blank boards.
I have used them with mini rubbers as playing pieces and the game rules that even the younger students came up with, were really amazing.
I have extended this activity by using it as a literacy task where students have been asked to write a procedural text ie. how to play the game.

A Social Narrative is an effective way to teach children how to navigate a new situation, such as starting school or preschool.
Social Narratives can help children understand what to expect at school or preschool and they can be used to support orientation, which is particularly useful when children and families are not able to be on-site.
Teaching children how to ask a question only once is a common social skill that needs to be frequently addressed.
As educators we always will say things like, “wait’ or “You asked that just a moment ago.”, however we need to explicitly teach these skills.
This story can be used to help children to develop skills so that they can learn to function and integrate with other children in the classroom and other social settings.

As educators we need to explicitly teach these skills.

Lateral thinking is a form of problem-solving that utilizes a more creative, less direct approach to the problem. Analytical, logical problem-solving encourages vertical thinking, which is an approach we’re often taught when dealing with math equations.

Need to make a classroom agreement with your students or need a set of words to develop positive mindset in your classroom.
•These cards are designed to be used as a classroom display, however, my belief is that there needs to be authenticity around any activity we undertake with our students.
•Students need to understand what each of the terms/words mean or “look like”.
•Divide the class into groups and give them a set of words each…….get them to brainstorm how each word is relevant to the classroom and their learning goals.
Use a word as a teaching focus for a day or a week, and give students real life examples of each. Praise students who are demonstrating the mindset you may be focusing on eg Why is it important to be risk takers?
•Where do we use mathematics- what does a mathematician do?
•Why is it important to have music in our lives?
•How do we know a person is a great listener?
• How do inventors help our lives?
•What does being a good team mate look like?
•Students may like to add pictures of their own heads onto the various shapes and outlines.
•Use this on a poster board, or use your classroom door as a display for these motivating words.
•Have FUN!!!
