PPT with a wide range of activities introducing different cities and towns in Spain. Some activities include: True or false - students will be provided with facts about Spain and they are to use their true or false cards to select their responses. (This could also be done on their mini whiteboards). Challenge: Students are to correct the false statements. Choral repetition with visuals provides ample opportunity for students to meet the language. Vocabulary games - ideas – have a pronunciation competition between the two sides; splat; beat the teacher; guess the correct image; listen and write down how students think it might be spelt before presenting the words etc. Match-up: students are to match the Spanish with the English equivalent. Geography - students will be given a copy of a blank map with a list of different regions of Spain. They are to have a go at inserting the correct regions in the right place on the map. La Tomatina - Students are to watch the video about Buñol’s Tomatina festival and answer the questions in English. Places of interest - Students are to copy the table and match the photo with its Spanish city and place of interest. Plenary: quiz to consolidate knowledge

PowerPoint introduces some simple Chinese words and greetings with visuals to show some different aspects of Chinese history and culture. Teacher can do a competition to split the class into two teams and the team that pronounces each word/phrase the best will get a point. The team with the most points, wins and gets a special prize. To practise, there is a role play with the pinyin for learners to do with their partner and take it in turns to be A and B. If learners are feeling confident, they can do it without the pinyin too.
