Two linked resources. The Word doc contains an account of Beyonces summer holidays. The html file is an interactive gap-fill activity, based on the same text. Work through the text, give the students a couple of minutes to re-read the text carefully, then ask them to cover the text up / put it out of sight, before doing the cloze exercise with the class.

A young German, apparently called Markus Absendt, expounds on TV programmes. Followed by True / False / Not in Text questions and a writing task.

Fictitious text about a boy who has improbable pets. Followed by questions in English.

Interactive multi-choice activity, practising various grammar points within the context of leisure / free time. Will work on PC or IW.

Relatively simple playscript for beginners who have done SEIN, a few adjectives of personality, and a few basic phrases. There is no real denouement to this dialogue but the pupils generally like it because I have a puppet just like the cat in the script ... Adapt the script to suit whichever props you have to hand. Once the students have practised the script as it stands, they could improvise changes to the words in bold type.

Who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-style Powerpoint quiz about the content of the movie NORDWAND. I used the WWTBAM template uploaded by ahardiment.

Simply display the Powerpoint, and read out plausible or implausible football results for the students to note down. This provided a surprisingly compelling context for the simple dictation of numbers in the early stages of learning them. You can of course change the teams however you like.

A number of resources revolving around the question of what you do when you find things that don't belong to you. The first text features a selection of blogs on the subject followed by comprehension questions in English and a 'Find the phrase' activity. There is then a Powerpoint with discussion questions and a toolkit to help students formulate answers.

Playscript in which Shrek, exhausted by fatherhood, can not remember basic information about his life and his family and has to be corrected repeatedly by Fiona. Revision of birthdays, where I live, my house, my family, likes and dislikes and colours.

Powerpoint with 9 slides each with a stimulus question. The questions focus on high-frequency Perfect Tense constructions. The first slide of the PPT acts as a homepage. Students choose a number and are hyperlinked to a slide they can not see.

Text in which young people outline what they have to do to earn their pocket money, followed by a comprehension task.

Practice of key verbs of travel in Perfect, Present and Future Tenses.

Simple table featuring regular -er, -ir and -re verbs in the first person singular in three tenses. Designed to help weaker students analyse and annotate the patterns. Can be blown up as a poster and / or printed as a hand-out. I've also put the display on a ppt.
