Contained in this resource are two attractive maths loop games. These games are 'tried and tested' and are ideal as a superstar starter or perfect plenary. Game 1 – 1 more and 1 less. Game 2 – Pairs of numbers to 10, 20 & 100. Each game contains 32 separate number cards. You can use these games to assess your children on whether they know the following statements from the Year 1 & 2 Mathematics Programmes of Study; • Given a number, identify 1 more or 1 less. • Recall and use addition and subtraction facts to 20 fluently, and derive and use related facts to 100. These resources are 'ready-to-go' simply download, print off, cut up and laminate and let the fun begin. In my experience classes love the challenge of beating their best time on these games.

This resource contains all the information needed to run a killer debate centred around who (or what) was to blame for the outbreak of the First World War. This resource includes 13 pages of facts and images, details of how to run the debate, information and images to create the background to this complex conflict and teacher notes to enable anyone to run what is likely to be a heated but very exciting set of sessions or a whole unit of work. All you need to run this debate is a printer, a pair of scissors, 11 envelopes and a willing class. This resource contains 18 separate times tables grids. Each contains a number of separate tasks and they are ideal for weekly homework sheets or to be used in maths lessons as a quick starter. I have used these very effectively with my class in preparation for the times tables check that is coming very soon. There are 11 sheets related to each of the 2 -12 times tables followed by 7 further sheets relating to mixed times tables. There is space for working on each sheet. They contain multiplication and division ‘find the missing number’ or ‘hole in the wall’ questions, there is also a cut out of a times table grid and a triangle of blocks which asks the child to calculate products of previous numbers. I have used these sheets in class as a timed exercise once a week - and there is space on the sheet to record the time taken per child. Since the dawn of the new National Curriculum Testing structure in 2016, there are only 4 ‘real’ Year 6 SAT mathematics arithmetic papers out there to test your children on. I’ve written this one and based it on the 2016- 2019 papers. This arithmetic paper is as authentic as it gets, and I’ve made sure the layout is very similar to the ‘real’ papers. This brilliant activity involves a class taking the roles of the 10 people (or groups of people) who could in some part be blamed for the sinking of the Titanic and the subsequent loss of over 1500 lives. The materials included here give you all the facts and everything you’ll need to conduct a killer debate. I did this with my Year 6 class, but it could be used with children from years 4 - 8.
