Within this resource pack is a reading comprehension taken from an authentic source. The passage explains the history of EDL, the aims of EDL and the benefits of the celebrations. Pupils answer questions on the passage and find vocabulary expressions to demonstrate understanding. Also included is a word cloud whereby pupils need to find 31 expressions. This is an excellent activity to complete in conjunction with the third resource, the writing and speaking frame, whereby pupils use the language from the frame and the word cloud to either speak or write about the importance of learning a language. Most of the questions are appropriate for the FLA to ask to the pupils then. It is a great ice-breaker. There is also a slide modelling how pupils can introduce themselves to the FLA, Excellent speaking practice, this can be used as a whole class activity or for small group or pair work. The questions are easy to print and can be stuck into books for revision.

This presentation is designed to support the introductions of jobs. There are 17 slides in the teacher presentation. A really clear grammar slide explaining how to use "etre" with professions. There is a worksheet with 12 word snakes practising the 1st 2nd and 3rd form of "etre" with professions. the solution is provided in the teacher PPT. There are picture games to consolidate the vocab.

This resource pack contains a teacher presentation revising descriptions of home and making comparisons. This teacher PPT is 18 slides and includes speaking and writing practice of which house they prefer and justification for their opinion. There is also a kinaesthetic reading resource where the teacher cuts up six comparative sentences and places them in envelopes with the translation on the outside of the envelope. Pupils work in groups or independently to translate the sentences. These are easy to edit for your own purpose. There are 11 slides of celebrity homes to be printed out for prompt cards for the speaking and writing task. There is also a vocabulary support sheet to help pupils. These resources were used in an observation where I was judged "outstanding". It is a really fun and meaningful lesson.

This pack of resources contains a teacher PPT that has a word search recapping on directions. There is then a grammar slide where pupils categorise genders of where they are going to using aller + au, à la, à l' and aux. There is then a consolidation slide with modelled answers for pupils to complete written or spoken work. Pupils then complete a worksheet which is a word puzzle consolidating the language. This is an excellent game for pupils to build their numeracy skills and extend their sentences. A number flashes on the left hand side and pupils use the sentence openers to say what is in their house and bedroom. They make the multiple using the grid. This can be extended using negative structures. This is a fun way for pupils to practice their speaking and can lead on to a written task. This was highlighted during an OFSTED visit as outstanding practice as the conversation developed freely and improved pupils' confidence and attainment levels. Easy to edit for other topics.
