General Election 2017 Activity - Venn Diagram

(0)
Whilst reading the Economist I saw a Venn Diagram which illustrated the 4 main political parties policies and so I created a version where the pupils can discuss which policies relate to which political party. I found it useful in Tutor Time to start a discuss around the General Election and it can also be used as an introduction to Venn Diagrams (real life context).

KS3/KS4 Pythagoras Theorem Lesson + Activity

(0)
A lesson I have adapted from other TES users over the years. This lesson begins with a problem and an interactive GIF to demonstrate Pythagoras theorem visually. There are some superb activities here and problems to make students think carefully about applying Pythagoras theorem in different contexts. It is up to you to explore and deepen pupils understanding! A worksheet that I also made which increases steadily in difficulty is attached. Please use, share and let me know what you think.

KS3 Volume of a Cylinder Lesson

(10)
A lesson on finding the volume of a cylinder. There is questions included here which I found from another TES user and I have added answers. There is a video I have made which includes a problem with water filling a cylindrical glass. The students have to identify how to find the volume of the glass using their knowledge. Please use and let me know what you think. www.goldenmaths.co.uk

KS4 Solving Simultaneous Equations (with a Quadratic / Circle) Lesson

(0)
A sequence of lessons on Simultaneous Equations where 1 is a quadratic designed for a high ability KS4 group. Prior knowledge of Factorising Trinomials is required - a lesson on this can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks4-factorising-trinomials-quadratics-with-a-coefficient-of-x-sqd-lesson-11772891 The structure of solving a Simultaneous Equation is clearly shown and starter activities are used to highlight key topics covered over the previous weeks. Lots of questions are given on the board so pupils work independently and share ideas with class during a group discussion. Please use and let me know what you think. I do not claim to own all of the resources published here - some are questions that have been adapted by other TES users (please contact me if you would like credit / removing).
