Three weeks planning (and many covering resources) for persuasive writing which is based around a letter to the PM persuading them that the practice of ‘Lions bred for hunting’ in Africa should be banned. This was used in Y6, however can be adapted for Y5/7. The class had drama on a Wednesday, so each week covers 4 lessons.

This resource is great to use as writing evidence for Teacher Assessments, using the History Topic 'Britain Since 1948'. It is cross curricular, however it will focus on the writing aspect. The lessons can be used for whole morning sessions, with links to videos and websites to gather evidence. There are 7 lessons, however longer can be spent if needed. It covers a range of genres including discussions, diaries, sports articles and newspapers. All resources are including, including the 'Activinspire' charts linked to each day.

This resource includes 30 of the spellings from the Y5-6 spelling list, with fun prompts to help remember spelling rules/patterns. I have used it as a display with my children and they loved it. It could also be minimised to go in trays for those who need it.

This resource is aimed at meeting expected standards in Year 6. It includes lessons on: measuring length, measuring mass, reading scales, converting from miles to km and using the 3 areas of maths (fluency, reasoning and problem solving). Each lesson starts with 6 a day arithmetic questions, in line with the SATs tests. Each lesson is accompanied with an ACTIVINSPIRE flipchart, which leads the children through the skills needed. The worksheets are differentiated by 3 abilities where appropriate.

This display is based upon the novel by David Almond. It is used to challenge children's understanding of the obvious, yet also subtle themes within the book. The resource is 16 pages and includes lettering, pictures, a topic page, extracts and related questions to challenge thinking. It also includes links to William Blake. It should form an interactive display with children responding to questions and discussion points. The extracts are all copyright of the author, David Almond.

This resources supports the introduction to resources for Y6. It includes, improper and mixed numbers, order fractions, reducing fractions, equivalent decimals and adding and subtracting simple fractions using shapes. There are 5 Activinspire presentations for each day, differentiated daily activities (3 abilities) and extension activities using the 3 areas of maths: fluency, reasoning adn problem solving.

This is a 4 week unit of work for (contemporary) narratives using the novel Skellig. I have used it to challenge Y6, however is draws upon KS3 ideas, so can be adapted to suit purpose. It includes 4 weeks planning and resources to accompany most lessons. It also includes the 4 PowerPoints to support the 4 weeks. This was created for a Year 6 class who were studying Skellig as their class novel. There is 4 weeks planning with resources for 3 lessons per week (the children completed practice tests on the other days). The extracts (all copyright to David Almond) and accompanied by an opening questions (3 marks), followed by 4 support questions, then a Greater depth set of questions. It also includes the accompanying Activinspire flipcharts for IWB (a freedown from Google)

This unit is based upon the novel Once by Morris Gleitzman and includes 3 weeks planning and resources to teach lessons. It was aimed at Y6 - however could be used with Y5 or Y7. The attached presentations are using Activinspire. The 'settings' lesson received an outstanding from an Ofsted Inspector. This novel is absolutely spectacular and captured the hearts of my children.

This resource includes the Activinspire presentations for each day covering: mental calculations, multiplying by units and then hundreds, dividing by units then hundreds. It takes children through the whole process. The challenges are set to differentiate by 3 ability groups and extensions include the 3 area of maths (fluency, reasoning and problem solving). It also begins to look at the need to round up or down accoring to the problem in division.

A reading questionnaire that as English Lead have used in my schools to assess the use and coverage of Reading for Pleasure in my school. It comes with an analysis (set to 30 per range, which just needs numbers to be inputted for Pie Charts to change). This was shared as an easy guide with SLT and for future provision to be set.

This booklet can be used for revision, homework or even interventions. It contains a Reading section (fiction, non-fiction and poetry) which total 50 marks. It then contains a GPS section on some of the trickier topics. Then an Arithmetic test (20 marks), in line with the SATs test. Finally some Reasoning questions relating to the trickier topics. I used this as homework, then went through it as interventions.
