I am a teacher of engineering with nearly 10 years experience. I endeavour to produce a range of resources that will help students to really engage with engineering as a subject and later, a profession. My resources are always produced to make it as easy as possible for you to change, edit add and remove content, or you can simply use the resources as they are. My main focus is to give you all of the information you will need to teach a subject, with as little fuss as possible.

Health and safety - Manual handling

(0)
PPT presentation about manual handling methods focused towards engineering activities. There are no additional files as the ones I used are freely available on the HSE website, though there are several single/group work activities that can inspire students to put thought into what they are doing. Used to teach students in preparation for the City & Guilds level 3 in engineering externally assessed exam, with excellent results in previous years. Though it has been made with engineering students in mind, the nature of the subject make it ideal for pretty much any subject. As with all other health and Safety subjects, don't forget to check out the HSE website - that place really has helped me to teach health and safety over the years. Please feel free to copy, paste and chop down any part of the resource you want.

Health and Safety - First aid regulations

PPT and activity to support the teaching of first aid requirements in industry. I use these to teach BTEC and City & Guilds engineering students at levels 2 and 3. I have tried to make these resources quite generic in order to provide accessibility across a range of subjects. As with all Health and safety subject materials, there is a wealth of other resources on the HSE website (UK) Please feel free to cut, paste, chop and change anything you like to meet your requirements.

Health and Safety - Risk Assessment

(0)
PPT and activity sheets that enable students to carry out their very own risk assessments in the school/college. I use these to meet the requirements for risk assessment in pretty much any subjects risk assessment criteria (mainly BTEC engineering and C&G courses). They can be used across any level, the activity sheets are a simplified version of an engineering companies risk assessment. There are freely available templates to use on the HSE website, but these are very generalised and much too complex for teaching. Also, YouTube includes many videos that can be used (with the correct licence) to support the teaching further. Please feel free to cut, paste and chop any part of these resources however you see fit.

5 Engineering Starter Activities with Answer sheets

(0)
A pack of 5 general engineering starter activities for use in Engineering lessons. These have been made for level 1/2 students and each one will help to build vocabulary as well as developing knowledge of certain terms when the teacher goes through answers. Included with each of the 5 puzzles is an answer sheet. All puzzles have been provided as a PDF. Stay tuned for more puzzles and quizzes as we progress through the academic year.

Health and Safety Resources

13 Resources
Includes all old and new Health and safety resources that I have published. Note - there may be a bit of crossover with resources as some old resources have been updated to meet new specifications, this is why I have priced the bundle low.

Three powerpoints and a word document that describe the processes of power generation and the methods that are used in order to send it around the country. Useful for a cover teacher or as introductory sessions into the subject of electricity and power. Appropriate for all ages, each set of slides uses descriptions and images to show its respective topic. The Battery Cell Construction document is for information or revision but could be used as a basis for activities if required.
