I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

French Colors 2 Emergent Reader Booklets - Les Couleurs

One booklet contains text and images and the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Each booklet contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages containing 11 different French color words. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first cut out and read the text/images booklet. This booklet contains phrases such as vert comme une feuille, rose comme un cochon, and orange comme une citrouille. They then sketch and cut out the text only booklet. This booklet contains a color + comme + _______ so students can finish the phrase with a noun of their choice and sketch an image that matches it. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the colors and nouns vocabulary. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text. The booklets can also be used as flashcards by folding under the text on each page, and they make helpful additions to French interactive notebooks. 8 pages

This is a 32 square board game containing Spanish letters of the alphabet, and the words empezar and ganar. Students shake the die, move that number of spaces, say the letter in Spanish and see who reaches the end first. Students unable to say the letter must return to the beginning. The game board can also be projected and used to practice letters, or to play the flyswatter game. Included in the download are: 1. Spanish Reflexive Verbs Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity & Follow-Up - This activity uses 16 different reflexive verbs. Examples of verbs used are acostarse, despertarse, ducharse, lavarse, vestirse, divertirse, sentirse, and dormirse. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish reflexive infinitive under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a fun, helpful activity for students learning reflexives, and it's also a great back to school review / get to know you activity for students with prior Spanish experience.
