I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

French ER Verb Infinitives 4 x 4 Matching Squares Puzzle - Students assemble a 4 x 4 French/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 different infinitives. Sample verbs are: aimer, chanter, commencer, donner, fermer, manger, penser, regarder, travailler, and voler. Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. There is a list of all words alongside the puzzle in French and English. This is a great activity for speaking practice because students enjoy presenting their creations to their classmates. Spanish Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity and Written Follow-up Bundle of 4 - The human bingo activities are also sold individually for $3.00 each on TES. For the activities in this bundle, each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. When a student fills the entire grid, he says, "Bingo!" The topics included in the bundle are: Class Objects and School - This activity provides practice asking "do you have" with tener concerning different class objects. A sample statement is, "Tengo un cuaderno verde." Family - This activity provides practice asking questions with tener and family vocabulary. Each box contains a statement about a family member. A sample statement is, "A mi padre le gusta jugar al golf." Ser and Adjectives - This activity includes soy with 16 different descriptive adjectives of people. Examples of adjectives are: feliz, trabajador, perezoso, inteligente, generoso, consentido, guapo, and atlético. Students will practice 3 forms of ser in the present tense with these activities. Each box contains 2 short statements. Sample statements are, "Soy inteligente. Quiero ser médico en el futuro." Ser and Family - This activity uses ser with with personality, appearance, and professions along with various family members. Students will practice 3 forms of each verb with these activities. A sample statement is, "Mi mamá es maestra en una escuela primaria." Each of the 4 human bingo activities includes a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to the questions in each of the 16 boxes. Each box contains a question starting with ¿En el futuro...? plus a verb in the future tense. A sample question is: ¿En el futuro, trabajarás con niños? When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Verbs used include: estudiar, viajar, vivir, ganar, tener, construir, correr, trabajar, plantar, escalar, comprar, aprender, escribir, jugar, tocar, and hacer Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. This is a set of 24 - 8 1/2 x 11 classroom signs for gustar and irregular yo verbs. Irregular yo verbs included are: saber, conocer, poner, decir, traer, caer, tener, venir, hacer, salir and oir. Each has a sign with the Spanish and English meaning, a full conjugation in the present tense and a simple sentence illustrating its use. Saber and conocer each also have 2 additional signs with sample sentences and there is one sign that has both verbs in Spanish with "to know". There's also a sign with a rhyme to help students remember the different uses of saber and conocer. There are 6 signs for gustar. Examples are: one with a full conjugation with gusta and a sample sentence, one with a full conjugation with gustan and a sample sentence and one that includes gusta and gustan and clip art illustrating the differences.
