Challenge your students to assemble this 4 x 4 square bilingual puzzle with common French and English sports words! This is great hands on activity for vocabulary building with sports words. The puzzle contains a few cognates, but most of the 26 words are not. Sample words included are: aviron, corrida, equitation, être pom-pom, lutte, natation, pelote basque, and blanche à neige.
Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. All words are listed alongside the puzzle in French and English. This list is helpful when students are assembling the puzzles, it can be used as a review list for partner or individual work, and it can also be used as a bookmark.

Students match French with English words for 22 different avoir expressions in this 4 x 4 square puzzle. Examples are avoir faim, avoir tort, avoir lieu, avoir envie de, and avoir chaud. Each of the 22 avoir idioms is used at least once, and several are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging.

Each contains 8 pages: the title page with 7 additional pages. One contains text and images, and the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. There are 2 versions of the page containing Barack Obama and the 2 candidates: one with the party symbols and one without. You may choose whichever best suits your purposes. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page.
Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet containing text and images. Names and vocabulary included are Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Parti républicain, Parti démocrate, bulletin de vote, and urne. They then sketch and create their own versions with the text only template.

2. Fill in the blanks of a 2-person dialogue
3. Compose their own greetings dialogue
4. Write feelings words under each of the 8 images
When the dialogue is complete, students can practice and present it for speaking and pronunciation practice.

This is a set of 16 cards comprised of 13 colors plus striped, polka dot and plaid that can be printed, laminated if desired and used to play a variety of partner or group classroom games. They can also be used as individual student flash cards and can be projected to play the flyswatter game. These games are great to reinforce learning when colors are presented and are fun review games for back to school and throughout the year!
The cards can be used for other languages, as well.

Students sketch and color a minimum of 10 foods that they will take with them on a picnic. They then write the corresponding Spanish words under the sketched items. This is a great activity for speaking practice because students enjoy presenting their creations to their classmates. It's also a fun activity at the end of the school year as students are thinking about summer activities and vacation!

Students love these cooperative learning, hands on vocabulary puzzles! With this activity, they'll practice 16 different irregular verbs, conjugated in the present tense, as they assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle. Verbs included are conducir, conocer, dar, decir, estar, hacer ir, oír, poner, saber, salir, ser, tener, traducir, traer, and venir. All verbs are repeated at least once which makes the puzzle more challenging. The puzzle contains a bilingual list of all infinitives alongside it that can be used as a student reference or bookmark. Include Hispanic art and culture with your grammar and vocabulary practice! Students interpret 9 sentences about a family portrait done by Colombian artist Fernando Botero. If a sentence is false, students must correct the incorrect words. Students then translate all 9 sentences and are also instructed to write a Spanish family word on each line pointing to family members in the painting. Verbs used include llevar, gustar, estar, hay, incluir, acabar, cenar, and ser, and vocabulary used includes family, clothing and toy vocabulary. The download includes a full size portrait that can be projected in class.
