Students will be reminded of the many things that their mothers do for them as they complete the sentence, "La mamá..." based on the 18 clip art images shown. Examples of pictures are caring for a child, cooking, changing a diaper, and reading with a child. Spanish Preterit AR Verbs Conjugated 4 x 4 Matching Squares Puzzle - Students assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 common AR verbs. Sample words are:
bailar, cantar, cambiar, llevar, pasar, preparar, trabajar, and nadar.
Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Spanish Valentine's Day Sketch and Label Activity - 2 Designs - Students sketch and label 10 things that remind them of Valentine's Day / El Dia de San Valentin / El Dia de los Enamorados. There are 2 designs of hearts and each has 2 word banks containing 14 vocabulary words. Sample words are candy, hearts, flowers, chocolate, etc.
Spanish Family Matching Squares Puzzle - Family and Pets - Familia - Students assemble a 4 x 4 bilingual Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with common family and pets words. There are 23 different words used in the puzzle. Sample words are madre, padre, hermanos, padrastro, bisabuela, gato, mascota y perro. Valentine's Day Bookmarks - With and Without Vocabulary Words - The images included on the bookmarks are chocolate, flowers, love, hugs, and cards. Each page contains 5 of the same bookmark. The version without the vocabulary words gives the option of having students write the vocabulary words for a little extra practice. Just copy, cut, and share with your students!
Spanish Valentine's Day and Ordinal Numbers Chant - This Valentine's Day chant contains 10 different words associated with Valentine's day and love, ordinal numbers from first to tenth, tener que + infinitive, and ir a + infinitive. Each vocabulary word is repeated 4 times either in its entirety, or partially for longer words which gives students lots of pronunciation practice. The repetitive nature helps students learn the vocabulary quickly. Once they do, they enjoy seeing how quickly they can say the chant!
Spanish Valentine's Day Love Verbs and Direct Object Pronouns - Students practice direct object pronouns with this assignment featuring love verbs such as to hug, to kiss, to worship, to love and to need. French Valentine's Day 2 Emergent Reader Booklets - French Valentine's Day 2 Emergent Reader Booklets - Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet containing text and illustrations. The words included are candy, hearts, love, Cupid, flowers, kisses, chocolates and roses. They then create their own version using the text only template. Students will get in the holiday spirit sketching the Valentine's Day booklets and will enjoy sharing their creations with their classmates and family members!

Each booklet contains 8 pages: the title page with Mon École, and 7 additional pages describing things pertaining to their school. Included are: my school, my teacher, new friends, my classroom, the playground, the cafeteria, and the library. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. There are 2 versions of the second page to give you the choice of using restaurant scolaire or cantine.

Spanish Adjectives Mirror Sketch and Label Activity - Students sketch their self portraits in one mirror and then write adjectives used to describe themselves in the other.
Uses and ideas for this activity:
1. This is a great practice activity when descriptive adjectives are introduced.
