I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish. I have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school, at various times in the past 17 years. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL, and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. My shop includes all types of resources for Spanish and French, as well as materials for English Language Arts and ELL.

Students love these cooperative learning, hands on vocabulary puzzles! With this activity, they'll practice 26 different chores as they assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle. Examples of chores included are cocinar la cena, poner la mesa, lavar el carro, pasar la aspiradora, and planchar la ropa. The puzzle contains a list of all words in Spanish alongside it and a bilingual vocabulary page copied 2/page for paper saving student handouts. Also included is a page of tips and suggestions for using the puzzles. Most words are repeated at least once which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for class sets (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. The puzzles are great to use for introducing and reviewing vocabulary, and they're also helpful for sub lessons. After students assemble the puzzles, they can use the vocabulary lists to quiz each other on the vocabulary. 3 pages

Students love these cooperative learning, hands on vocabulary puzzles! With this activity, they'll practice 18 colors and patterns as they assemble a 4 x 4 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle. All common colors are included, plus plateado, and dorado, and there are 4 different ways to say brown (de café, pardo, moreno, and castaño). Patterns included are de rayas, de cuadros, and de lunares. Also included are claro and oscuro. There are 23 different words all together. The puzzle contains a list of all words alongside it that can be used as a student reference or bookmark. Also included is a page of tips and suggestions for using the puzzles. Students practice irregular verb meanings and conjugations in a fun, interactive way with these games! There are two 32 square board games containing 15 different common Spanish irregular verbs. One board contains Spanish infinitives that students must translate to English, and the other contains Spanish infinitives that students must conjugate based on the subject pronouns provided. Students play in groups of 3 which include 2 players, and 1 moderator with the answer key. Students shake the die, move that number of spaces, say the answer, and see who reaches the end first. Included in the download are: 1. 2 Game boards (1 with infinitives to translate, 1 with infinitives that must be conjugated) 2. Vocabulary for presentation 3. Answer keys for the moderators 4. Teacher tips and instructions 5. Game instructions for students There are 2 designs of both game boards, black and white boards, and colored boards. Students practice asking and answering gusta/n and encanta/n questions with a variety of food vocabulary. Foods include vegetables, meat, candy, fruit, condiments, and desserts. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must ask classmates if they like or love a food from the grid. When a student replies yes, the name is written in the box. When a student fills the entire grid, he or she says, "Bingo!" After completing the speaking activity, students must complete a followup written activity. For each of the 16 boxes on the bingo grid, students must write a sentence in the 3rd person about the student who signed the box.
