About Abbey Woods Academy
Our school is proud to be part of Anthem, a multi-academy trust that creates ambitious and successful schools where every child thrives.
Abbey Woods caters for approximately 200 pupils, aged 3 to 11. It is situated in beautiful and spacious grounds which the children enjoy in both their learning and leisure time. The school is made up of eight classes. It is school policy to try to ensure that class sizes do not exceed 30 pupils. All classes are well resourced to provide a high-quality curriculum for every pupil.
At Abbey Woods, we aim for high standards and outstanding achievement in a creative and fun environment. We encourage children to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. We emphasise the importance of respect, good manners and pride in our work by providing an exciting curriculum, in a positive climate, that enables everyone to succeed.
The emotional wellbeing of every child is also an essential part of our ethos. We nurture and help our children to learn how to be happy, enjoy meaningful relationships with family and friends, and live their lives without fear or worry.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, visitors, and volunteers to share in this commitment. All post holders are subject to an Enhanced DBS Check, suitable references, and other essential checks. Staff involved in recruitment and selection of employees are trained in safer recruitment, and all our staff and volunteers undertake Child Protection training.
