King's College Junior School

King’s College Junior School is an independent day school in Wimbledon, south-west London, for boys aged 7 to 11. In 1912, the junior school was established in its own right on a 17-acre site at the edge of Wimbledon Common. The Corporation of King’s College School is the body constituted for the purposes of operating the school.

King’s College Junior School shares some facilities with its senior school neighbour. The school is an Anglican foundation which accepts boys of a range of faiths or none.

Values and vision

King’s College Junior School believes Art, Design, Music, Drama, Sport, ICT and the wide range of extra-curricular activities that it offers are just as important as those subjects which are assessed through formal examinations. The school aims to enable students to develop wide-ranging interests and to value both their work and their leisure time.

“Pupils are extremely well developed socially. They behave around school with respect and thoughtfulness, which is reflected in their kindness and good manners to others. Older pupils fulfil effectively the responsibilities bestowed upon them as house captains, prefects, sports captains and members of the active school forum, whose deliberations include contributing to some school policies. Pupils have an awareness of public institutions in the United Kingdom and a lively appreciation of national politics.”
