About Kingsford Community School
Kingsford Community School is a diverse and vibrant coeducational secondary school that offers a unique and transformational education to its 1500 pupils in the heart of Beckton, East London.
Through the school’s International School and Confucius Classroom status and strategic partnerships that seek to raise standards at every turn, pupils are well equipped to excel and achieve their full potential.
In recognition of its outstanding work in opening up opportunities and breaking down glass ceilings for pupils through the provision of the best partnerships, scholarships and outstanding pastoral support, Kingsford has been named one of the top 10 schools for the World's Best School Prize 2024.
Pupils are inspired within the classroom by a challenging yet accessible curriculum, stimulating teaching, outstanding pastoral care and the best in modern facilities. And yet the Kingsford learning experience goes well beyond the classroom, with exciting educational visits, international experiences, a varied cocurricular programme and community outreach projects.
At Kingsford, every pupil has the opportunity and support they need to aspire, succeed and excel as global citizens who make a difference in the world around them. They are strong communicators, responsible citizens and ambitious achievers who carry a strong sense of value with them for life. As Ofsted have stated, “pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding. They develop into mature and reflective young adults who show a strong sense of responsibility and a genuine concern for others.”

Values and Vision
At Kingsford Community School, pupils are taught, motivated and nurtured to aspire, succeed and be excellent. To support our pupils in this mission, we advocate and uphold the FIRST values (Focus, Integrity, Respect, Self-Determination and Teamwork).
Kingsford Community School is a place for excellence, achievement and progress. We are committed to enabling our pupils to realise their potential through the provision of exciting opportunities which help them to develop their talent. All staff work towards setting achievable targets for pupils and regularly review them, in order for each individual to observe and learn from their tangible progress and move forwards to even greater accomplishments. Our academic results consistently improve due to our ambitious and dedicated staff, the hard work of pupils and the support of their parents.
Kingsford is a place for equality. Equality is at the core of everything we do, and is something we passionately seek to drive forward at every opportunity. As a school we are strengthened by the many nationalities and cultures represented and we seek to respect and celebrate them all. We are a diverse and inclusive family of kindness where no child is left behind, and where everyone is actively engaged and feels they belong and contribute. Our curriculum, policies, and staff professional development seek to ensure that every single member of the community feels welcome and supported to thrive.
Kingsford is also a place for partnership. Staff and pupils benefit from links with schools in the UK and abroad, and regularly receives a number of distinguished visitors from across the world. The school contributes to and benefits from partnerships that ensure the best in teaching and learning, such as SSAT and TEEP, and is committed to the continued professional development of all its staff.
Kingsford is a place that transcends the classroom. A dominant aspect of the school’s ethos is committed to the provision of a full range of extra-curricular activities, particularly in: sport, debating, drama, music and computing. For us, learning does not stop when the bell goes. Pupils enjoy access to a vast array of learning resources, and carry a strong sense of belonging and value that shapes their future as culturally conscious individuals.
