The opening of Merchiston  International School, China (MIS) in August 2018 created an exciting opportunity for a team of innovative and committed staff to break new ground at an exciting, new, co-educational boarding and day school in Shenzhen, Southern China.

MIS offers a rigorous British independent school curriculum for international students aged 4 – 18, culminating in IGCSE and GCE A Level. The design of the campus creates the kind of innovative learning spaces in which a relevant and constantly evolving 21st century education can take place in the context of an established ethos.

As a vibrant and dynamic new school , MIS enjoys the collaborative support and partnership of its founding school Merchiston Castle School Edinburgh which brings almost 200 years of excellence at the forefront of Scottish independent boarding education.   The ethos of both schools is based on people and relationships. Particular importance is attached to the development of personal character and moral values.
