About North London Collegiate School Jeju
NLCS Jeju was the first NLCS International School to open its doors in 2011. It is located on the island of Jeju, in South Korea, but its proud heritage is from the United Kingdom, where in 1850 education pioneer Frances Mary Buss established the North London Collegiate School.
In just a few years NLCS Jeju has earned a reputation as one of the most prestigious and successful schools in East Asia. IB Diploma results are outstanding and the school’s graduates are attending some of the world’s leading universities, including Oxbridge and Ivy League colleges.
In keeping with the NLCS philosophy, the curriculum is aspirational and provides significant academic challenge for students. Students sit iGCSE examinations at the end of Year 11 and follow the IB Diploma Programme through Years 12 and 13.
NLCS Jeju offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package including accommodation, flights, health insurance and free places at the school for teachers’ children.
Location
The school is located on the picturesque island of Jeju, in South Korea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also the first international school to be opened as part of the Global Education City on Jeju Island, which is becoming the centre of English education in Korea and the pre-eminent educational hub of Asia.
Jeju Island, 130km off the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, is often described as one of Asia’s best-kept secrets. Jeju’s temperate climate, natural scenery and beaches make it a popular tourist destination for South Koreans as well as visitors from other parts of East Asia.
Location
I look forward to receiving your application to our school here on the wonderful island of Jeju. Having been part of our founding leadership team here at NLCS Jeju, I return as Principal this academic year to an incredibly successful school. Our examination results and university destinations are impressive and reflect the quality of education provided by our passionate teachers. Teaching at an NLCS school is founded on subject passion, pace and engagement and developing a lifelong love of learning. It also opens doors to our family of schools and one of the most successful global international school groups. We provide an outstanding education through our three pillars of focused and individual pastoral care, a rigorous ambitious curriculum and a full and varied programme beyond the classroom including academic societies and a focus on the creative arts.
