Northampton School

Northampton School is an 11-16 state funded co-educational school on the North-Eastern outskirts of Northampton near Moulton. The school is part of The NSB Trust, with its partnership school, Northampton School for Boys, which has an illustrious heritage being founded in 1541 by Thomas Chipsey in Bridge Street, Northampton before moving to its present site in 1911.

Northampton School opened to 210 Year 7 students for the first time in September 2023 and will move onto its brand-new site with outstanding facilities in time for the start of the 2024/25 year. We are already providing an incredible opportunity for experienced and Early Career Teachers giving them the chance to create an outstanding school for future generations of students within the Northampton area. We offer a truly exciting range of CPD opportunities for all teachers and leaders across the school and are wholly committed to investing in the development of our staff in The NSB Trust.

The NSB Trust is also a key strategic partner of the Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub and as such there are further outstanding professional development opportunities available to all teachers.

The Trustees actively seek ways in which to attract and retain good teachers. This currently includes, amongst other things: a Surface Pro Device, access to the 25M Pool and School Gym at Northampton School for Boys, a salary sacrifice car scheme, a cycle to work scheme, free counselling and mental health support and free access to qualified physiotherapy.

Northampton School provides a strong and traditional academic curriculum, delivering consistently high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring that all students are afforded the opportunity to maximise their full academic potential whilst at the school. Furthermore, students have a wide range of extracurricular activities with a key focus on the Performing Arts (Music/Dance/Drama) and Sports. It is our strong belief that an active student is both a happy and successful one and therefore students are provided with a vast range of activities both inside and outside of the curriculum.
