About Reigate Grammar International School Kuala Lumpur
Welcome to Beaconhouse Newlands International School (we will soon change our name to Reigate Grammar International School Kuala Lumpur). It gives us great pleasure to introduce the school to you on behalf of both the governors and the staff. RGS is a large, heavily oversubscribed, Reception to A levels school. We are a truly comprehensive and inclusive school, committed to providing the best education we can for the children in our local community. Our experienced and dedicated staff and governors work collaboratively in many contexts, including through our Teaching School Alliance.
At RGS we have high expectations of our students and strive to ensure that every child achieves academically, socially and personally. We provide children with a balanced curriculum, a happy, stimulating environment and opportunities in abundance. Children joining us will be individually supported to help them develop into confident young adults with a set of skills and abilities that enable them to make lasting friendships, appreciate diversity in others and ably compete in a global education system or work environment.
We believe that we are a wonderful school to be part of; the students are delightful and hard-working; the staff and governors are very committed and parents are supportive. We are extremely proud of our school and what has been achieved.
Values and Vision
We aim to provide all students with a safe and caring learning environment for them to gain the skills, acquire the knowledge and develop as happy and confident individuals.
All pupils are encouraged to push themselves to reach their full potential, while teachers believe in getting to know each child to ensure that their needs are met. Students are developed as creative, confident and proactive learners, with the desire that they will leave education as happy and well rounded young adults, ready for the challenges and opportunities in a modern and every changing world.
Pupils are encouraged to discover their talents and nurture them during their time in school, which is supported by a wide range of extra curricular activities that are offered across the year groups. These include sports clubs, art and design lessons, music lessons and the Duke of Edinburgh Award, where pupils over the age of 14 have the chance to gain an additional qualification to add to their CV while developing new skills, learning to be a leader and giving back positively to the community.
