Welcome to Southgate School

Southgate is a special school for pupils with complex needs and an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). We are a safe nurturing school where individuals are celebrated and our pupils are supported to develop their unique potential and are given a fresh start every day.

Our Aims

To focus on giving our pupils their best possible futures, enabling them to lead happy, safe and purposeful lives

To uphold and remain true to our vision and values, embedding the Nurture Principles to always put our pupils and their wellbeing first

To provide highly specialised SEND learning environments with skilled, dedicated, and motivated staff, ensuring all pupils make strong and sustained progress in all areas

To promote a strong sense of inclusion which encourages respect and tolerance, an enjoyment of diversity and difference, and a sense of community and mutual support that extends beyond the school gate

To actively recognise all forms of communication, including behaviour, to inform everything we do, working closely with all stakeholders, especially pupils, parents and carers
