St Aidan's Catholic Academy

St Aidan’s Catholic Academy is an all-boys, non-selective, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form in Tyne and Wear, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Sunderland has approximately 950 students on record. It’s sister school, St Anthony’s Girls Catholic Academy is located close by. 

Formerly St Aidan’s Catholic School, St Aidan’s Catholic Academy converted to academy status in 2013.

St Aidan’s Catholic Academy’s vision is to work with parents to develop student’s talents and nurture them in a welcoming and caring learning environment. The Sunderland school wants all students to work to the best of their ability and develop in self-belief and self-confidence so that they are able to leave fully prepared for the challenges and opportunities of a modern society. The school promotes the values of the gospel and works to ensure that strong relationships are formed among staff and students so that everyone feels a sense of belonging. Religious education and prayer is central to  school life at St Aidan’s Catholic Academy, and students are taught the values of respect and consideration for others at all times. The Tyne and Wear secondary school wishes for students to gain further experiences outside of class and offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities for them to get involved in.
