About The British International School, Moscow
About the school
The British International School of Moscow, first established in April 1994 is a non–government educational institution and is licensed by the Moscow Department of Education.
Highly qualified, native English speaking teachers deliver the curriculum, ably assisted by Russian teachers and teaching assistants. The school has an excellent provision for English as an Additional language (EAL). Children of approximately 65 nationalities attend BISM, bringing a unique richness and variety to the educational experience.
The class sizes are small and allow for the curriculum to be differentiated, meeting the individual needs of our students. Those children who need specific support with the English language receive an E.A.L. support programme.
All the schools are well resourced with teaching and learning materials including excellent information technology provision, sports halls, libraries and well equipped science laboratories.
This International Baccalaureate World School has six different sites in Moscow, each site has a different Headteacher and there is a close connection between all the schools and staff. All schools are extremely well resourced with computer suites, science labs, interactive white boards, libraries, music rooms and fully equipped sports and arts facilities.
BISM has a very high reputation in Moscow for the approach and quality of its education. They believe it should not just be about academic learning, but rather about the whole child and the school community. Local students attend BIS Moscow because the parents understand that their children are living in a very global world and so, to best succeed, they need to have the widest possible opportunities. An English-speaking, British education with connections to the UK’s best universities is considered a huge benefit.
