About The British School Manila
The British School Manila (BSM) is a co-educational, private, not-for-profit British international school.
Founded in 1976, the school has grown from 2 classrooms and 32 students in its first year to the present day where BSM welcomes 950+ students aged 3-18, representing 50+ nationalities.
BSM’s Guiding Statements underpin all that we do. Our purpose is to provide an outstanding holistic British international education, empowering students to flourish as global citizens with the skills, understanding and values, to make a positive contribution to our world.
Our School
Our school is a fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), a founding member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and a member of the East Asian Regional Council of Schools.
Our teaching staff come from a range of backgrounds with experience of the British and other highly regarded curricula. We offer classes from Nursery to Year 13 with three classes per year group.
The majority of BSM graduates attend College in the U.S. and U.K., but our college placement data shows our students attend colleges all over the world.
The school year is divided into 3 terms: Term 1 from August to December, Term 2 from January to March, and Term 3 from April to June.

Our Curriculum
BSM teaches an adapted form of the National Curriculum of England in EYFS and Years 1-9. This is followed in Years 10 & 11 with a comprehensive range of Edexcel and Cambridge (I)GCSE courses. In Year 12 and 13 students experience the internationally renowned and recognised IB Diploma programme, which helps students develop their breadth and depth of knowledge ready for further education.
We are also proud of our wider curriculum. We offer more than 180 After School Activities (ASA), a rich and diverse programme that caters for all student interests and develops their sporting, creative, academic and artistic talents. Our service learning programme is designed to prompt both action and reflection and ensure our students develop the capacity for empathy and a sense of responsibility for others. Our residential trips provide our students with opportunities to step out of their comfort zone, to appreciate cultural differences and to celebrate diversity.

Our Host City
Our school is located in Bonifacio Global City, a safe, pedestrian-friendly, vibrant and modern district of Taguig, Manila, full of international brands, family-friendly restaurants, shops and other facilities. Weekends see BGC transform as roads are closed for children to play, families relax in the green landscaped spaces and visit the frequent festivals, showcasing music, art and culture - you can see more on their facebook page. We’re also close to Makati, another popular district with tourists from the rest of the Philippines and beyond.
The Philippines is a beautiful nation of over 7000 islands and an excellent base for exploring South and East Asia and Australasia. Our staff, and families, enjoy weekends and frequent short breaks among the many islands, including the internationally recognised resorts of Boracay, Bohol and Palawan.
BSM follows Child Protection and Safeguarding policies in line with UK standards; all successful candidates will be required to submit a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and a full range of pre-employment checks will be undertaken upon appointment.

Describe BSM in just three words? Family, caring, innovative.
- Patricia Ransom - Deputy Curriculum Leader, Science. At BSM, every member of the community can contribute to the school’s mission to provide a high-quality, holistic education for the students. As a parent and a member of the PTA, I have seen how hard the school staff work to teach and create opportunities for my kids.
- Jennifer Verlini - Parent'Education concerns itself with creativity, whether it is creating art for self-expression or creating solutions to the systemic issues of society. At BSM we are able to implement different different pedagogies of creativity with students who are both playful and aspirational in their explorations".
- Greg Anderson - Senior School English teacher.
