Our Location:
We are situated close to the M1 and M62 motorway networks providing easy access to the towns and cities of Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield and Halifax, yet close enough to be able to take advantage of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. There is a train station a 20 minute walk away with regular services to Leeds, Huddersfield and Manchester.
Our Partnership:
Westborough High School has a Trust status bringing together Westborough with our partners The University of Huddersfield, Kirklees College and Kirklees Council to form a ‘Partnership of Strengths’.
What are the benefits?
- Our trust partners all have an interest in the development and education of the wider community which mirrors Westborough’s vision and aims.
- Westborough enjoys more flexibility – We are able to set our own admissions criteria (in accordance with the admissions code), employ our own staff and have responsibility for our school land and buildings.
- We are better able to support children and young people’s all-round development, helping to tackle issues of deprivation and social exclusion
- We are better placed to develop new and existing long-term partnerships.
- We gain access to the experience and expertise of our partners.
- We benefit from strengthened governance and leadership skills.

The school has given me opportunities to be involved with both departmental and whole staff training, and has provided me with an abundance of support and teaching strategies to ensure my personal and professional growth. The inspirational ethos of the school, the team of outstanding professionals within the department and across school, and a lot of determination, Westborough helped me become the teacher I am today.
- Rosie Whitham, Teacher of EnglishThe Headteacher has created a real community culture in the school. Pupils are well supported and cared for in the school.
- Ofsted, 2017At a recent parents’ evening: “What impresses you about Westborough?” It is a well organised school and the teachers look after the students and care about the children’s' progress and achievement. My daughter always comes home with a smile on her face! Teachers are eager to go out of their way to help the children.
- Parent, Oct 2017The headteacher and senior leaders know the school, pupils and their areas of responsibility well…the pace of improvement is rapid …
- Ofsted, 2017I have been very fortunate to be offered personalised CPD opportunities that have enabled me to develop and progress my teaching career. During my time at Westborough I have successfully been supported through the AST process and more recently been accredited as an SLE for a local teaching alliance.
- Ismail Patel, Assistant Head teacherWorking at Westborough is a rich and rewarding experience.
