About Arco Academy:  

Arco Academy is a registered, independent alternative provision, specialist sports academy situated in the heart of Camberwell, London.  

Arco Academy offers education to students referred by mainstream schools and the Local Authority, and we place the emphasis on pastoral care and take a holistic approach towards education.

Role and Responsibilities   

Teaching and learning  

• Monitor, mark and assess learners’ work and progress and maintain such records as appropriate  
• Prepare learners for exams or tests required for acceptance to education or training opportunities.  
• Facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides learners with the opportunity to achieve their potential  
• Contribute to the maximising of learners' attainment  
• Any other reasonably requested duties  

planning   

• Schedule and plan individual tutoring sessions for your learners  
• Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individual needs and study level  
• Prepare and facilitate tutoring workshops, collaborative projects, or academic support sessions for learners  
• Research or recommend textbooks, software, equipment, or other learning materials to complement tutoring  
• Ensure that the equipment is in good working order and suitable for teaching use  

general duties  

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you are providing subject tuition  
• Participate in relevant meetings with colleagues  
• Monitor and evaluate courses and to provide feedback to the Lead Tutor as requested  
• Support other members of the team  
• Deliver video tutorials and facilitate online forums (if working as a distance learning tutor)  
• Review your own professional development and maintain professional standards  
• Promote your services and skills to gain learners and recommendations  
• Ensure you work in line with child protection regulations  
• Able to travel between sites  
• Carry out any other such duties you may reasonably be required to do
