About the School - NBH Nursery
North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep School is an independent, co-educational establishment and part of Cognita Group, seeking to recruit an experienced Administration Assistant to join our dedicated and caring team at the Nursery site.
Our Nursery and Pre-Prep Schools in Hampstead are located in two separate Victorian villas, moments around the corner from one another, and provide a natural transition from preschool to Reception (4+). From ages 2 to 7, children are immersed in a fully rounded academic and extra-curricular programme, designed to develop the whole child, and delivered by subject specialists from the very start of their educational journey.
We pride ourselves on really getting to know each individual child on their journey through Nursery and Pre-Prep, to Prep School and beyond.
Through our personalised approach in a small school environment, we help each child to achieve their full potential from the start of their school career.

About the role
As an Administration Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth operation of the Nursery. Reporting to the Headteacher, you will be responsible for general administration, safeguarding procedures, and maintaining an organised and welcoming front office environment. As the first point of contact for parents and visitors, a friendly and welcoming manner is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This is a permanent, full-time role, starting as soon as possible.
Please note: This role covers both the Pre-Prep and Nursery sites. You will work collaboratively with the administrator at the Pre-Prep to ensure the best possible experience for our parents and pupils, efficiently completing tasks while supporting each other.
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in either the independent or maintained sector, including nursery and primary schools. This highly varied and dynamic role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks while providing support to staff, pupils, parents, and various departments within the organisation. You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative duties, including reception duties as required. The role is based at the reception/office in our lively Nursery setting. Please note: a high level of computer literacy is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Running the school reception and office, supporting the senior leadership team, teaching staff, pupils, and parents to ensure the smooth operation of the school’s administrative functions.
- Serving as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and contractors, ensuring strict adherence to all safeguarding procedures.
- Monitoring pupil attendance and follow up on absences promptly.
- Managing bookings for After School Clubs, Tea and Breakfast Clubs, and Holiday Camp, liaising with parents and creating offers through our School App.
- Ensuring orders for paper, photocopy ink, and office stationery are placed and tracked, ensuring timely delivery.
- Working independently while maintaining a proactive and organised approach to meet deadlines.
- Providing administrative support to the Headteacher as required.
