École Jeannine Manuel is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through school with nursery but without sixth form, situated in Bloomsbury, Central London. Opened in September 2015, it is the sister school of an elite private day school in France, also called École Jeannine Manuel and founded in 1954.

The London branch of École Jeannine Manuel is an Ofsted-registered independent school which will provide 500 places for nursery, primary and secondary-aged students when fully subscribed. It currently enrols pupils through to Year 10, and is working towards introducing students up to Year 13. The original École Jeannine Manuel is France’s largest non-denominational independent school, with more than 3,250 students across both Paris and Lille.

Values and Vision

École Jeannine Manuel shares its Parisian sister school’s pedagogical principles. With the motto “International understanding through a bilingual education", it was formed on the basis of developing bilingual education from as early as nursery-school level.

It bases its curriculum around children's natural creativity and desire to learn. Its approach to education involves introducing children to a basic set of skills as well as teaching them to think critically and boost their self-confidence.

Ofsted

“The headteacher’s leadership and vision have ensured that the school is thriving and providing a good education for pupils. The school promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development very well. Pupils particularly enjoy creative and cultural activities, which have a positive impact on their personal development. Skilled leaders have ensured that the best of French and English provision has been successfully combined.”
