Ashville College, Harrogate, is looking to appoint an experienced Administrative Officer to work on Senior School Main Reception and provide administrative support to the School Central Office and the wider school community. 

Excellent communication skills, a flexible ‘can-do’ attitude and a good understanding of Microsoft Office products are essential. Experience of working in schools would be an advantage.   

This permanent role is part-time, full year, working 20 to 30 hours per week (days and hours of work to be discussed at interview.) A term time only contract with ten additional days would also be considered for the right candidate. The salary for this role is £12.20 per hour. 

There will be a requirement to be flexible to cover occasional evening Parent Events and the annual Saturday Open Morning and to cover for holiday periods.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England.   The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
