Afterschool Playworker

HOURS:

Hours: 10 per week (4 days)

 

Fixed Term, Part-time, Term-time

SALARY SCALE:

The pay scale will be Scale 3 Pt 5 to Pt 6, equivalent to £28,545 to £28,977 (Pro Rata).

 

LOCATION:

Twin Oaks Primary School.

REPORTS TO:

School Business Manager and the Headteacher, who has overall responsibility for the school

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 

To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the After-School Club. Ensuring that all necessary managerial and administrative tasks are undertaken. To be responsible for the children’s supervision and recreational needs in a safe, stable environment within an inclusive framework. To work to, and be familiar with, all Lewisham Education policies, especially those related to equal opportunities and promoting anti-discriminatory attitudes with staff and children.

 

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

 

Support for Pupils

●      Sharing in the overall responsibility for running the Club in an efficient way.

●      Ensuring that the children in the Club’s care are safe and secure at all times.

●      Ensuring that equipment and facilities available in the centre are used in an appropriate way.

●      Overseeing common areas of social activities such as discussions, special projects and activities etc.

●      Attending to individual children’s needs as they arise.

●      Undertake training as part of the post holder’s professional development, participating in meetings or conferences as part of the team or otherwise appropriate.

●      Ability to work as part of a team, sharing with colleagues the overall aims of the Club and always aiming to achieve these.

●      To carry out the duties of the post with due regard to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and core values.

●      All employees are required to undertake appropriate training and development identified to enhance their work.

●      Undertake other duties, commensurate with the grade, as may reasonably be required.
