Apprentice Teacher - English (Fixed Term)

This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds City College as an Apprentice Teacher in English in our School of Creative Arts based at Quarry Hill Campus.

We are seeking a dynamic, talented and organised individual to undertake this important role. This role requires a Teacher to make a contribution towards positive outcomes for learners in English who are on a study programme in either Visual Arts, Creative Media Digital Arts or Music, Performance and Production.

This is a Level 5 apprenticeship and is fixed term for 24 months.

What You Will Do

• Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans for the English department within Creative Arts.
• Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
• Create individual SMART learning targets linked to learner study programme/course and track and monitor progress against these.
• Responsible for recording student progress and supporting students to achieve targets.

About You

• Studying towards a higher level teaching apprenticeship (L5 Diploma in Education and Training) while in post
• Acquire L2 Safeguarding qualification upon completion of the apprenticeship
• Relevant highest level vocational qualification in teaching subject (at least at L3)
•  English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 prior to commencing training or prior to completion of the apprenticeship
• Relevant up to date subject knowledge in specific subject area and up to date knowledge of workplace practice
• Exceptional verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational skills, to ensure deadlines are met
