We’re currently looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner.   Whilst the role is home based, there is a requirement to travel occasionally to Twigworth, Gloucestershire where our Central Office provides financial support, leadership and governance to the group as well as a number of our sites across the country. 

 

The Role:

As a key member of the Finance Business Partnering Team you’ll be working closely with our Finance Analyst and Financial Controller in supporting one of our Finance Business Partners to ensure that the financial position and forecasting of a number of our services (schools/colleges) within the group is accurately reported.

Whilst ensuring our Principals are kept fully abreast of financial matters relating to their site you’ll be expected to help and guide the sites’ leadership teams to maintain good budgetary control; ensuring they are fully versed in their financials and are enabled to make appropriate decisions as a result.

For the services you’ll be responsible for; you’ll play a key a role in preparing the month end management accounts (with meaningful commentary and analysis); assisting the Finance Business Partner with the preparation of the annual budgets and monthly reforecasts; help to embed financial controls and processes on site and provide insightful analysis, performance monitoring and financial modelling as appropriate.


Experience: 

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:  

  • AAT Qualified (or studying towards CIMA) preferred.
  • Experience in working in a Finance team, and experience of producing monthly management accounts and reports.
  • Strong IT skills with good knowledge of Excel.
  • High degree of accuracy/attention to detail.
  • Excellent team player with strong communications skills, with an ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial managers.
  • Credibility and confidence to work with senior managers across the organisation.

 

Whilst the role is predominantly home based there will be a need to work from our office in Twigworth and travel to our services occasionally.
