Job overview

The Science Department are looking to recruit an Assistant Physics Technician. The primary objectives of this role include preparing apparatus for class practicals and teacher demonstrations as well as clearing away equipment promptly after lessons and cleaning and storing apparatus as necessary. This role requires close liaison with the teaching team and Head of Department with a safety-aware and safety-first approach at all times.

This is a full-time role due to commence in September 2024.

During term time, working patterns are arranged to form a 39 hour work week. This changes to 30 hours per week during school holidays. There is work on a Saturday, but this is covered with the five other technicians across the 3 sciences and amounts to roughly 10 Saturdays per year.
