 Arthur Mellows Village College is looking for an Assistant SENCo to assist with the strategic leadership of the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).  The team is highly motivated and focused on enabling all students to achieve their very best outcomes.

 The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, manage and effectively deploy staff and resources to meet the needs of the students with SEND. They will also be implementing Exams Access arrangements for students. This is a busy varied role co-leading with the SENCo, assisting with the identification and assessment of students with SEND and leading the process of monitoring and evaluation of SEND in line with school policies.

Arthur Mellows Village College is a vibrant, oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive, situated in a very pleasant rural village between Peterborough and Stamford. Ofsted graded the College as ‘Outstanding’ for a second time in December 2014.  Behaviour is excellent and students are keen to learn, 

  • 70% of all level 2 qualifications (GCSE’s) are awarded at the equivalent of grade 4 or above.  
  • Over 20% of all level 2 qualifications (GCSE’s) are awarded at the equivalent of grade 7 or above.
  • At A level over 29% of grades are A* or A.  
  • KS5 vocational students achieved over 65% at Distinction*/Distinction
