Slough and Eton School and Grove Academy, both part of SEBMAT, are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser. Having outsourced careers advice for a number of years we are now keen to employ someone who will become a member of our school communities and who knows the students and staff well. This role will be based at Slough and Eton two days a week and a third day based at Grove Academy, also in Chalvey.

We want to employ a Careers Adviser who will deliver one to one and group sessions to students by offering advice and guidance and to support them to make appropriate yet ambitious career decisions. We want our students to see the Careers Adviser as someone they can go to for careers advice and support whenever they need it and who will assist them with college, sixth form and apprenticeship applications. Our Careers Adviser will work under the guidance of an Assistant Headteacher.

The only essential requirement is to be qualified to Level 6 in Careers Guidance. Aside from that we want someone who can connect with young people, who wants to be part of the our team at school and who can provide support and guidance to enable out students to go on and lead a successful and fulfilling life.

Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.

Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned bu high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework.

We are both committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to satisfactory references, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and evidence of essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins

Headteacher
