Catering Assistant-Job Advert – Black Firs Primary School

Black Firs Primary School is a one and a half form primary school with a 45 place pre-school. We have a caring, family ethos in our school, where our vision is to ‘help every child to become their own superhero.’ We have a strong team ethos, with pupils and staff alike welcoming the opportunity to help others succeed. Staff members work collaboratively together with each other and with pupils and parents to build strong relationships and improve outcomes for all.

We are looking for a motivated and efficient Catering Assistant with an approachable manner to join the school catering team.

Your duties will include assisting with the preparation and cooking of school meals, presentation and service of food and beverages to our students and maintaining the catering areas in accordance with food hygiene regulations. You should have a flexible and adaptable approach to your work, excellent communications skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.

The ability to work a busy service and support in the preparation and serving of meals.

An understanding of relevant Health and Safety procedures

Communication skills to deliver polite and efficient customer service.

Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to undertake this.

Hours: 11-2pm (3 hours per day), 15 hours per week, term time only

Weeks: 38 hours per week

Actual salary: Grade 2 SCP 2 Grade 2 SCP2 £12,707.00
