Class Teacher - Little London Bridge, Resource Provision

MPS/UPS

Within GORSE, we are passionate that all children excel, regardless of their background or additional needs. We are, therefore, incredibly excited to announce the addition of Little London Bridge, a new Resource Provision for children with Autism and/or Complex Communication Needs, which will be opening from January 2025!

Little London Bridge will join our pre-existing resource provisions, Rainbow Base and Horizons. Catering for over 70 Primary and Secondary students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s) respectively, Little London Bridge will benefit from the expertise currently available to us from across our trust, whilst forging its own identity within the Little London community.

Little London Academy formally joined The GORSE Academies Trust in February 2024. We are really proud of our Academy and the community we serve. Ours is a happy school in which our pupils are encouraged to become considerate and responsible members of society. Above all, we want our pupils to enjoy their days at school and to know the joys of learning, perseverance and challenge.

Little London Bridge will grow over the next three years to become a provision for 40 primary aged pupils with an EHCP and Autism/Complex Communication Needs. Our provision will benefit from multiple teaching spaces, a purpose-built outdoor provision, sensory room and sensory integration room.

All within the Little London Academy community are incredibly excited about the creation of Little London Bridge, which will provide much needed specialist provision places for those within the local community and beyond.

If you have the skills to teach pupils with complex needs to the highest quality and to embed a learning culture that enables children to become enthusiastic and independent learners, then this is the role for you!

You will be an outstanding practitioner who:

  • innovative, creative and passionate about the development of outstanding provision for learners with additional needs
  • is dedicated to raising standards and is able to demonstrate highly effective teaching skills
  • can demonstrate the ability to plan an exciting, inspiring curriculum
  • recognises parents as vital partners in learning and is committed to building strong relationships.

The successful candidate will also have the following experience and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A proven track record of achieving academic excellence.
  • Evidence of implementing innovative approaches to learning, particularly in regard to children with ASD.
  • Experience of meeting the needs of children and young people who may benefit from specialist provision within a mainstream setting.
  • Resilience, energy and optimism.

Do you want to be part of our team, the creation of a brand-new provision and make a real difference to the lives of children in Leeds?

If you feel that you have the necessary experience, skills and abilities, we look forward to hearing from you.
